TEDxWoking 2021

TEDxWoking 2021

On 21 May 2021, TEDxWoking returned for the fifth time to Woking - this year to McLaren's Thought Leadership Centre - for an afternoon of inspirational and enlightening talks.

The theme was Resilience, and we heard from some exceptional people with great 'ideas worth sharing'.

The event was once again opened by Rob May, who gave his TEDxWoking Talk in 2017.

  • My first TEDx talk in 2017 opened many international doors for me (and resulted in two published books). I’m now delighted to support TEDx Woking both through event sponsorship and guidance and support for our inspiring speakers.

  • Louise Curtis

I work in technology for The Telegraph, which has led me to a number of international speaking opportunities. I also work part time as a humanist celebrant, conducting weddings and namings.

  • Marilise de Villiers Basson

I am a father of three and a husband to one. When I’m not working on my businesses, I enjoy family time, a good run and a good read (although not necessarily all at the same time!).

  • Kimbeley Leung

    Our compère: Kimberley Leung

I moved to England from Northern Ireland for my career in commercial functions within the pharmaceutical industry. I am passionate about leadership and developing young people.

  • Mel Loizou

I help individuals, teams and businesses create positive change through ‘can do’ leadership and a shift in perspective. One that understands the apparently impossible is absolutely possible.

  • Ruchi Pathak Kaul

    Our compère: Ruchi Pathak Kaul

I am a maxillofacial surgeon with special interest in Medical 3D Printing and a clinical experience of more than 12 years, with a vision to serve as many people as possible in different ways.

  • Jane Stacey

    Our compère: Jane Stacey

With a strong corporate background, a fork in the road created the opportunity for me to create my own business in lockdown, helping to bring brilliant business ideas to the people who need them.

  • Susan Walsh

    Our compère: Susan Walsh

I grew up in Broughty Ferry, Dundee. I studied at Abertay University but always had ambitions to live and work in London. They were never quite realised, but Surrey is close enough.

  • Ges Ray

    Our compère: Ges Ray

How confident are you with public speaking? Ges Ray is Founder and CPSCB  (Chief Public Speaking Confidence Builder) at Speaking in Public. Ges takes you and your team from “No thanks, I’d rather someone else spoke” to “I cracked it, and won business.”
